  1. A toucher ceases to be a toucher if it is not marked (with chalk) or "indicated" as a toucher before the next bowl comes to rest. Or when a toucher becomes dead.
  2. The marker needs a second hand so that he/she can time 30 secs from the last bowl (of an end) coming to rest.  It is only after those 30 secs that a bowl can be wedged ( to stop it from falling into or out of a scoring position).
  3. The players alway toss.  In a singles game the marker does not toss, it is always the players.
