  1. The “possession” of the rink changes when the bowl bowled by the previous bowler comes to rest.
  2. If a “wrong” bowl is bowled the bowl is allowed to come to rest and the “right” bowl is brought to the head and carefully exchanged for the “wrong” bowl.
  3. If a player plays out of turn there are 3 options (see rule 47.1)
    • the bowl can be stopped by the opposing skip and returned to play in turn. 
    • If the bowl comes to rest without disturbing the head the opposing skip has the option of leaving the head as it is and have their team play 2 bowls one after the other OR returning the bowl.
    • If the bowl disturbs the head the opposing skip has the option of leaving the head as it is and have their team play 2 bowls one after the other OR replacing the head and returning the bowl OR declaring the end dead.
